Marble Clock

This is a beautiful Marble clock that was made by my Great Grandfather Sims. The marble is Birdseye Marble from the quarry at Birdseye, Utah that my Great Grandfather ran in the early 1900's.

The photo to the right is a piece of sandstone with a round hole in it that was used to create round marble balls like the one on the top of the clock. I don't remember if this sandstone was the exact one that was used on the clock's ball or not. Any way, it is a fantastic clock and extremely heavy!
Crafting runs in my family. I am sure that I got my crafting bug from Great grandpa and this clock! I can't even imagine using marble as a starting material.
