Q: Do you know another language?
If so what is it?
Can you speak, understand, read and write it?

A: I am/was fluent in Norwegian. I lived in Norway for 16 months during 1984 and 1985. Even now I sometimes dream in the Norwegian language. It is too funny. I can read quite well, understand good too. But sometimes I can't come up with the right word when I am speaking. If you don't use it, you'll use it. I don't speak Norwegian often enough and find myself loosing it often.
I also can understand a little bit of Spanish. I used to be able to read Spanish quite proficiently, but now I get confused with knowing Norwegian.
I know a few words of Hawaiian too. I wish I knew their language. It is very beautiful to listen to.

Spanish, I can read it, I can make out slow conversation, but can't speak it
ReplyDeleteHmm I grew up in the Philippines as a missionary kid.. I learned Cebuano and Tagalog. But now as an adult and being back in the states.. I have a hard time remembering everything.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could speak another language! I can understand very little Spanish--most of it food items. You can tell where my priorities are
ReplyDeleteNo, but I sure did give it the old college try. I took a year of Spanish but none of it stuck at all.
ReplyDeleteI used to speak Spanish as a little kid but 38 yrs later & I barely remember any. I also learned some German while we lived there. Enough to get around. And I found it very useful to learn how to say "I don't speak your language; do you speak English"? in several different languages!
ReplyDeleteI got through three years of French in high school...sadly I don't remember a lick of it.
ReplyDeleteI know a little bit of Spanish and Hawaiian, but not enough to have a conversation.
ReplyDeleteI never learned another language but I wish that I did.
ReplyDeletei know a some sign language. and a few bad words in spanish. :)
ReplyDeletefrench. i used to be fluent. now i'm pretty rusty but could probably muddle my way through a conversation if i had to
ReplyDeleteI took German all through high school, but really don't remember to much of it.
ReplyDeleteI used to know French pretty good, when I came out of highschool. I think if I visited Quebec I could muddle my way through. Luckily, my daughter is getting into it a school, and I am re-learning through her.
ReplyDeleteNone, but would love to learn spanish! I have heard that their are so many different dialects that it doesn't help much anyway!
ReplyDeleteI took French in school from 4th grade to my junior year in HS when I received college credit for it. With a little practice I think I could still pick it up. It has just been a lot of years. In college I also took Sign Language and use it to "speak" in code with hubby. Know a little Hebrew from my days of Hebrew school, but I stopped that early on.
ReplyDeleteJust a tiny bit of French and Spanish though not fluent in either.
ReplyDeleteI know some French and wee bit of Spanish but I have forgotten a huge amount of what I once knew.
ReplyDeleteFrench,I used to speak it well, write it well but I have had no use of it over the years so I have almost lost it all. There are still a few things I understand though.
ReplyDeleteI can laugh fluently in Spanish. I also know some as I used to live in Barcelona, Spain.
ReplyDeleteonly the one for me my daughter can speak a little spanish but I can not understand it at all
ReplyDeleteI sure wish I could speak another language - my great-grandmother taught us a lot of Swedish because she was born and raised there and wanted to retain as much as she could...but of course most of it escapes me now. I know enough Spanish to get by, but not to be fluent in it. I'd love to learn how to speak French! :)
ReplyDeleteI used to be able to read, speak and understand Japanese but since I haven't used it in years, I've forgotten a lot.
